The pandemic of 2020 was and continues to be a huge drag on the resources of hospital and emergency management staff. The federal and state governments continue to require daily reporting of over 100 measures to their systems. The Federal government has mandated hospitals that provide service to Medicare members comply with reporting or their conditions of participation to the Medicare health system will be at risk. In New Mexico, this translates to all of the hospitals.

We built a tool to help reduce the reporting burden on staff, standardize the data elements, improve the quality and reliability of the data and generally help healthcare workers get back to the business of doing healthcare.

The State of New Mexico Emergency Resource data team stepped into the scene in early 2021 to inquire as to the scalability of our tool.

Since the beginning of the pandemic we have successfully loaded 2.5 million fields of data, resulting in a combined labor savings of $10,086,667. Throughout this period we have achieved a 100% compliance rate for all the hospitals under our service. Not a single one of the hospitals we work for received a non-compliance letter from CMS.

The Automated Covid Reporting Solution is a perfect example of how this exceptional tool can free up valuable employee time for other operational activities. The elimination of expensive manual labor on highly repetitive, high-volume tasks is a must, especially in the healthcare industry. The professionals need to be tending to patients, not computers.
